Jundi-shapur University of Technology by the name of northern branch of Ahwaz Shahid Chamran University has been established in 1976 and organizational chart with the four faculties of engineering, agriculture, science and medicine in an area of 18 hectares was approved. Because of the imposed war the northern branch of Shahid Chamran educational activities were stopped.
Educational Activities of the northern branch of Shahid Chamran was begun on 1988. And students were accepted in the university to continue their education on major of general works of building (a branch of Civil engineering).
Finally, after pursuing some processes by the authorities and attaining the permission to change the name of the Northern branch to educational complex of Jundi-shapur, then the name of Jundi-Shapur university of Technology with an area of 90 hectares was accepted on 10 July 2015 for it.
