Juneidi is a business leader and a football administrator. Juneidi was appointed General Manager of Harar Brewery in 1994, after graduating from the Addis Ababa University. Juneidi served as General Manager for over 18 years and became one of the longest serving general managers in the country. Juneidi was highly regarded for successes achieved under his leaderhsip. Harar Brewery was awarded nationally for three years in a row for being the best company in the country by the Ethiopian Quality Awards Organization. From 2010 to 2014, he was elected for two terms as Vice President of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations.

Juneidi was elected president of the Ethiopia Football Federation on October 10, 2013 to replace Sahilu Gebrewold. He beat three other candidates for the top football job in the East African nation, winning 55 out of the 101 votes at Thursday's General assembly.[1] Juneidi represented the eastern region of Dire Dawa.[2]

Ethiopian Football Federation

Juneidi was elected in October 2013 winning 55 out of the 101 votes at EFF General assembly to lead the football governing body of Ethiopia. In his four year term as President of Ethiopian Football Federation, Juneidi worked very closely the Ethiopian government, FIFA, CAF, businessmen, clubs, media and other stakeholders to develop football from grassroots level and foster investment in youth academies, stadiums and sports facilities across the country. In his tenure as President, football leagues grew to include youth and women's leagues. When he took over in 2013, Ethiopian only had men's premier league. EFF, under his leadership, launched U17, U20. U23 and women's premier leagues and created competitive youth and women's national teams. Juneidi invested heavily in human development and training local coaches, instructors and players. The number of Ethiopian instructors and certified coaches doubled under his presidency. Ethiopia won the bid to host Championship of African Nations in 2020 for the first time and is now a strong candidate to host African Cup of Nations. On the diplomatic front, Juneidi oversaw the opening of FIFA Regional Coordination Office in Addis Ababa and brand new headquarters of Ethiopian Football Federation.

In February 2016, Juneidi was appointed by FIFA electoral committee as an independent scrutineer to oversee and monitor the 2016 FIFA Presidential elections in Zurich. He served as a member of FIFA Marketing and TV Committee from 2014 to 2016 and CAF African Cup of Nations Organizing Committee from 2014 to 2017.

Harar Brewery

Juneidi served as General Manager of Harar Brewery for over 18 years and became one of the longest serving general managers in the country. I took the company out of bankruptcy to being awarded nationally for three years in a row for being the best company in the country. Juneidi turned the brewery around from a trajectory of bankruptcy to earning millions of dollars in profits within a few years by:

  • Expanding its capacity by 100% of its original production capacity.
  • Enabling it to enter export market of different regions and countries such USA, Australia, South Sudan, UAE, etc.
  • Renovating and rehabilitating the main machineries of the plant and replaced with latest technology that has enhanced operational efficiency.
  • Solinge the chronic water shortage of the company via construction of long distance water line.
  • Introducing quality management systems and enabled it be ISO 9001:2000, ISO: 22000, ISO: 14000 and HACCP certified.
  • Undertaking extensive human development programs.

Juneidi made huge impacts to the environment and people's lives through extensive corporate social responsibility programs that included the establishment of Harar Brewery football club, construction of roads, hospitals, schools and tap waters from wells for millions of local people and working with organizations for the disabled and red cross. The projects had massive support from local people and improved the lives of millions of people. Juneidi also led environmental protection campaigns that engaged employees of the company in planting trees. 31 hectares of barren land and mountains were covered with trees in a few years improving the quality of the environment and life in the city. The reforestation campaign gained national recognition and awards from the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and several other international institutions. Juneidi demonstrated proved leadership skills and spearheaded a series of comprehensive reforms that led to the brewery receiving the following awards and certificates.

  • Certificate from the South African Bureau of Standard (SABS) Commercial certificate of registration on qualifying the Quality Management System Standards (ISO 9001:2000) in 2005.
  • Certificate of ISO 14001, a certificate from an International Standards organization for qualifying Environmental Management System Standards in 2004.
  • Certificate from SABS COMMERCIAL Certificates of Registration for qualifying Hazard Analysis and critical Control point system standards (Food safety Management system) HAACP in 2006.
  • Certificate of ISO 22000.

  • National Green Award hero received from the President of Ethiopian Federal Democratic Republic twice in 2006 & 2007 for effective resources mobilization and campaign works in protecting the environment and historic sites.
