Stolpersteine is the German name for stumbling blocks collocated all over Europe by German artist Gunter Demnig. They remember the fate of the victims of Nazi Germany being murdered, deported, exiled or driven to suicide. The first Stolperstein collocactions in the Békés County (Hungarian: Békés megye, pronounced [ˈbeːkeːʃ]) took place in Békéscsaba on 30 September 2012. Usually the Stolpersteine are placed in front of the last self-chosen residence of the victim. Their name in Hungarian is botlatókő.
In Hungarian, the family name is always put on first place. There is also the tradition that married women bear first and family name of their husbands - with the additional suffix -né after the first name of their husband. The wife of Bónis Adolf therefore is called Bónis Adolfné. Mostly on the Stolperstein the woman's birth name is engraved in the line below.
The lists are sortable; the basic order follows the alphabet according to the last name of the victim.
