Allah Dino Khawaja (a.k.a. A.D. Khawaja), is the incumbent Inspector General of Sindh Police. He is an officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, and is batchmates with prominent bureaucrats namely Fawad Hasan Fawad, Rizwan Ahmed and Raja Sikandar Sultan.[1]

He has taken serious decisions and implemented the National Action Plan of Pakistan and Karachi operation. He appointed many constables in Sindh Police on merit basis without any political pressure.[2] He launched reforms into the existing Policing system in sindh province, revised CCTV monitoring system in Karachi metropolitan. He was forced to take leave because he had taken actions against the forced Sugarcane supply to a Asif Ali Zardari’s close business friend Mr. Anwer Majeed who is owner of Omni Group and several sugar mills in Sindh.[3][4] In January, 2017 he resumed his charge.[5][6]

He is a controversial officer who is alleged by elected government to refuse orders and instead of serving the province is serving military interests. Amid the great tension between elected political government and rogue military generals,[7][8] he is alleged to recruit 20,000 retired military personnel into police, who belong to province of Punjab and their loyalties are said to be with Punjab and military and not with people and government of Sindh.[9][10] He has handed over training of new police recruits to Actively serving army officers, who have final say in who pass the training and join the force.[11]

He had been removed by chief minister of Sindh and Sindh Cabinet in 2017,[12] but he refused to leave office citing illegal action. For first the time under the leader ship of I.G. Allah Dino Khawaja, in the history of Sindh province, police constables have been appointed purely on merit through credible testing services and physical test by the Pakistan Army. Previously, the posts of constables were always filled by the ruling party and the allies. In many cases, criminals, over-aged and physically unfit persons got appointed on political basis creating many troubles for the law enforcers.
