Shenalyn201 It would be best if you use the WP:article wizard and run new creations through WP:AFC. Articles need sufficient coverage in reliable sources to meet notability guidelines. The reviewers at AfC will review your drafts and make recommendations if there are problems that need to be fixed. Creating new articles can be harder than it looks. My first attempts were also deleted. It's best to have them review new articles as they are very good at that.--<b style="color:black">Dloh<span style="color:red">cier</span><span style="color:gold">ekim</span></b> (talk) 08:03, 5 March 2018 (UTC)

The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange reception

Then please, teach me how to get the information. Stein256 (talk) 00:25, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please, I'm begging you. Teach me. Stein256 (talk) 00:27, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please teach me how to add sources and references to a Wikipedia article. Stein256 (talk) 00:32, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Stein256:
 1. Find information-- books, magazines, newspapers, web sites, internet searches, google books, HighBeam, etc. (not so much blogs, press releases, user edited content)
 2. Note where the information came frrom
 3. Use template:cite to organize sourcing
 4. Add information in your own words.
 5. place template:cite with organized sourcing information between tags after information added.
 6. proof read
 7. save.

A blatant and unashamed case of refactoring another editor's talk page post.

I decided that this was one of the rare occasions when changing another editor's talk page post was OK. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 17:14, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators' newsletter – March 2018

News and updates for administrators from the past month (February 2018).

Administrator changes

added Lourdes
removed AngelOfSadnessBhadaniChris 73CorenFridayMidomMike V
† Lourdes has requested that her admin rights be temporarily removed, pending her return from travel.

Guideline and policy news

 • The autoconfirmed article creation trial (ACTRIAL) is scheduled to end on 14 March 2018. The results of the research collected can be read on Meta Wiki.
 • Community ban discussions must now stay open for at least 24 hours prior to being closed.
 • A change to the administrator inactivity policy has been proposed. Under the proposal, if an administrator has not used their admin tools for a period of five years and is subsequently desysopped for inactivity, the administrator would have to file a new RfA in order to regain the tools.
 • A change to the banning policy has been proposed which would specify conditions under which a repeat sockmaster may be considered de facto banned, reducing the need to start a community ban discussion for these users.

Technical news

 • CheckUsers are now able to view private data such as IP addresses from the edit filter log, e.g. when the filter prevents a user from creating an account. Previously, this information was unavailable to CheckUsers because access to it could not be logged.
 • The edit filter has a new feature contains_all that edit filter managers may use to check if one or more strings are all contained in another given string.

Miscellaneous

Obituaries

 • Bhadani (Gangadhar Bhadani) passed away on 8 February 2018. Bhadani joined Wikipedia in March 2005 and became an administrator in September 2005. While he was active, Bhadani was regarded as one of the most prolific Wikipedians from India.

Decline of two unblock requests

I notice that you declined two unblock requests at User talk:Jamalcrao. Wikipedia:Blocking policy#Unblock requests is a bit vague about this: it just says "by convention, administrators don't usually review more than one unblock request regarding the same block", rather than "administrators must not review more than one unblock request regarding the same block", but I still think it is much better never to do it, so that the blocked editor gets an independent review from another person. Even in a case where a request so obviously needs declining may seem that it will make no difference who declines it, giving the blocked editor a reason to claim unfairness is something better avoided.

(Incidentally, I recently suddenly realised what your user name must mean. It now seems so blindingly obvious that I can't imagine why I didn't think of it long ago.) The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 15:49, 2 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@JamesBWatson: Thanks, SNAFU on my part. Hide in plain sight, I say.--Dlohcierekim (talk) 16:02, 2 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Alan Jackson

The Alan Jackson vandal usually targets Alan Jackson, Good Time (album), Freight Train (album), 34 Number Ones, Thirty Miles West, Playlist: The Very Best of Alan Jackson, Precious Memories Volume II, The Bluegrass Album (Alan Jackson album), Angels and Alcohol, Don't Matter, and We Dem Boyz. Edit filter request

Is that really the most appropriate name for a requested filter you could come up with? One does not wish to have those words appearing in the watchlist. DuncanHill (talk) 18:45, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@DuncanHill:Sorry, had no idea how to request an edit filter addition and probably botched it. Seemed like a term we could filter out so it stops appearing on user talk pages and in articles. Thanks--Dlohcierekim (talk) 19:17, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think it was a good request - just gave me rather a turn to see that in my watchlist just now! DuncanHill (talk) 19:19, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It keeps showing up especially on at least one user I know of's talk page. Also in articles he watches. A variant showed up on my talk after I requested the edit filter. It is not something I want want to have to revdel again.--Dlohcierekim (talk) 19:21, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

news1india is news channel i want to build a page on wiki pedia

hi this is zeeshan from news1india want to creat my company page on wikepedia — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zee101010 (talkcontribs) 11:15, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Zee101010: That presents as problem as you have a WP:COI and might meet criteria for WP:PAID. I see you made the disclosure on your user page. I do not recommend trying to create articles on subjects with which one has a connection. I know from personal experience it's easy to not see one is writing with a conflict of interest. If your sole purpose on Wikipedia is to create an article on your company, that might not work out to your satisfaction, as the subject might not meet notability guidelines. Please read the deletion notice I left on your talk page. It would be best to use the article wizard to help you find reliable sources that speak on the subject in sufficient depth to meet notability requirements. 08:12, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Need Help

Hi Dlohcierekim, I saw that you've deleted my newly created article. I've been trying to publish my first article but it seems I can't seem to fit the criteria. It's hard to write new articles about famous people who don't have yet a wikipedia page so the moment I read an article about the guy "Jim Kwik" and watch a video in goalcast I thought he's relevant enough and I found out he don't have wikipedia page, so I wrote one. I'm going to write another article about a Filipino Miss Intercontinental 1st runner. Can you check it later and advice me what to be aware of so that it won't be read as an advertisement? Thanks Shenalyn2018 (talk) 07:53, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
