Mohammed Gani was born in the year 1959in Delgi a local govt area in plateau state. he began his early education at the central pry school, Delgi from 1966 to 1973 and he proceeded to govt sec school , Pankshin where he obtain his Secondary school leaving certificate with distinction in 1978 he obtained his B.Sc in Botany with an upper class from the University of Jos in year 1980 to 1984. in pursuit of knowledge Gani went to the university of London where he obtained his M.Sc certificate in applied plant science in the year 1988 he then did his Doctoral degree in plant Physiology at (ATBU) Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University where he also become a professor in the year 2006.<ref>{{cite web|title=Vice-Chancellor – Federal University Kashere|url=https://fukashere.edu.ng/administration/vice-chancellor/|website=fukashere.edu.ng|accessdate=9 April 2018}}</ref>
