The Football Lads Alliance (FLA) is a street-protest movement in the United Kingdom founded in 2017 by John Meighan.[1] They describe themselves as a "new movement with a new purpose to fight extremism".[2]

Criticism

Premier League

While the movement describes itself as against "all forms of extremism", the Premier League has warned clubs that "the group is using fans and stadiums to push an anti-Muslim agenda".[3]

Diane Abbott

The group has been criticised by Labour's Diane Abbott, who accused the group of promoting anti-Islamic speakers and of failing to oppose right-wing terrorism.[citation needed]
