Shopbop is a US online fashion apparel and accessories shop founded by Bob Lamey,[1] Martha Graettinger,[1] and venture investor Ray Zemon[2] in November 1999[3] in Madison, Wisconsin.[4] It was originally the internet presence of brick and mortar clothing dealer Bop in downtown Madison[3] (the shop was closed in 2014).[5] Graettinger and Lamey chose Madison because it was a college town with strong fashion-conscious student base.[6] Shopbop was acquired by Amazon.com on February 2006.[7][8]
