History

Kalibak is the adopted son of Darkseid, his mother was a New Goddess named Suli. His father is HighFather (ruler of New Genesis) to form a peace treaty between Appkolips and New Genesis, HighFather and Darkseid Exchanged their first born sons, thus HiFather adopted Darkseid's son Orion and Darkseid adopted Kalibak. Other media

He has appeared in the last two incarnations of the original animated series, Super Friends, as his first televised appearance where he alongside of Darkseid were played by Frank Welker.

Kalibak later was featured on Superman: The Animated Series where he was voiced by Michael Dorn.

In Justice League, Michael Dorn reprises his role of Kalibak at the time when Brainiac invaded Apokolips. He later returned in another episode as a member of the Superman Revenge Squad in a plot to kill Superman. During his second attack, he ended up engaging Lobo in battle.

In Justice League Unlimited, Granny Goodness appeared before Mister Miracle and Big Barda to free Kalibak from the X-Pits where Virman Vunderbarr has him in order for Granny Goodness to release Oberon from her clutches. With the help of the Flash, they free Kalibak only to trick Granny Goodness with Martian Manhunter (who was disguised as Kalibak) so that Flash would find Oberon. It turned out Kalibak is now in Earth's prison.
