Caroline Rose is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. After releasing two records of folk music and country music-inspired music, she signed to New West Records and released a critically-acclaimed pop-rock album, Loner.

History

Caroline Rose was raised on Long Island, New York. The daughter of two artists, Rose began writing songs and poems at age 13.[1].

In 2012, a 22-year-old Caroline Rose and producer/multi-instrumentalist Jer Coons launched a Kickstarter to fund the production of a Rose's first album, America Religious. The campaign exceeded its goal of $8000, eventually raising $10,115.[2]. The album, blending American folk music, country music, and rockabilly styles was self-published later that year. Two years later, Rose released her first nationally distributed album, I Will Not Be Afraid on Little Hi! Records. Like the first album, it was produced with Jer Coons and blened Americana musical styles, and it contained two songs previously released on America Religious.[3]

Following this release, Rose took a nearly four year hiatus from recording. Frustrated with genre labels, she continued to write privately, with the goal of finding an individual musical style that was less rigidly defined. In 2017, she joined New West Records, and recorded an album of new material with producer The Bees (band). The new album, Loner represented a radical shift away from the musical style of her previous work, blending pop music and alternative rock elements, and incorporating prominent Synthesizer throughout. Notably, this album also saw a shift in lyrical tone, as well, incorporating a number of overtly humorous, sarcastic, and satirical songs.[4] Although Rose played most of the instruments on the album, she formed a new band to perform on tour.
