Chweneyagae was later rumored to be playing a small role in the 2009 film [[District 9]], which was filmed on location in [[Soweto]], as was Tsotsi. However this rumor was not fact and was formed from a scene in a District 9 trailer where an actor who resembles Tsotsi is in a van asking for a [[Bulletproof vest]]. This role was actually played by Mandla Gaduka.
