Music

West is perhaps most known for their music program. The West choir is know world wide and consists of audition choirs (Chansons, Concert Choir and West Singers), a combined choir of Concert Choir and West Singers known as Symphonic Choir, a freshman choir and three extra-curricular choirs (Chamber Singers, Fermata and Men of Note). The Symphonic Choir had the honor of performing with the Haddonfield Symphony in 2006. The two groups performed Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms. The vocal group West Singers has been invited to sing at many ACDA National Conventions and often have the most amount of students get into All State, All Eastern and All National Chorus. Recently, they were invited to sing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Other Recognitions include Best of High School a capella 2006 (Champions- Men of Note '06, Finals- Fermata '05) and many tracks on the Best of High School a capella CDS. The Cherry Hill West Choir is known for their strong performances and unbelieveable talent able to sell out a show every time. The most popular performance of the year is always Broadway Night. These shows are dedicated to the musicals you love, the television theme song that you grew up with, and the commercials that you can't get out of your head. With unbelievable singing, dancing and acting, you are sure to leave Broadway Night with a smile. The groups are led by Mrs. Christine Bass and Mr. Jim Boeckle. Famous graduates of the West Vocal Program include Aaron Lazar, who has gone onto star in the Broadway hit, Light in the Piazza and will soon occupy a supporting role in Les Misérables.
