Giorgos Masouras (Greek: Γιώργος Μασούρας; born 1 Jan 1994) is a Greek professional footballer who plays for Panionios. On 1 January 2019 he will belong to Olympiacos.

Club career

He started his professional career in Ilisiakos and now he is playing for the Athenian club Panionios. On 27 April 2016, at the end of the 2015–16 season they reached to an agreement on a new contract with the club. The 22 year old midfielder had an excellent year and Panionios is eager to expedite the procedures for the renewal of his contract which expires on summer 2017. Finally, the two sides reached an agreement for another two years, until the summer of 2019, for an undisclosed fee.[1]

He started the 2018-19 season as the undisputed leader of the club's offense, following an impressive year as he has played a whopping 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring on 8 goals and notching 1 assist.

On 23 November 2018, following his debut with the Greek national team, Olympiacos has announced the upcoming acquisition of Panionios winger. According to reports, Olympiacos have paid Panionios €400,000 for Masouras’ signing, and there is the possibility that Marios Vrousai, Athanasios Androutsos and Dimitris Nikolaou will move to Nea Smyrni in return. The winger will join up with Olympiacos on 1 January 2019 and can still represent current club Panionios in the remaining Super League games of 2018. The international winger has penned a four-year deal. [2]

International career

On 9 November 2018, Greece new coach Angelos Anastasiadis called up left winger Masouras for the match against Finland and Estonia for UEFA Nations League. "All players dream of someday representing their country and I am happy for this opportunity. It is a child's dream for me", Masouras said.[3] On 18 November 2018, he made his debut in a 1–0 home loss game against Estonia.
