Revision as of 06:12, 3 January 2019
This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on January 3, 2019.
500 Easy Pieces
- 500 Easy Pieces → The Simpsons (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Not mentioned in the target article. Per this page’s history, the subject of this redirect seems to represent a TV commercial for Butterfinger, but it’s not mentioned there either. Steel1943 (talk) 06:11, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
List of advertisements featuring The Simpsons characters
- List of advertisements featuring The Simpsons characters → The Simpsons (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
- List of the Simpson characters in advertisements → The Simpsons (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
- List of The Simpsons television advertisements → The Simpsons (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
- List of The Simpsons TV ads → The Simpsons (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
- List of The Simpsons TV ads by product → The Simpsons (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
There is no such list(s) in the target article or in The Simpsons (franchise). (However, List of advertisements featuring The Simpsons characters is a {{R from merge}} from 2009, but the former content is seemingly nowhere to be found.) Steel1943 (talk) 05:10, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
The Circus (Simpsons TV ad)
- The Circus (Simpsons TV ad) → The Simpsons (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Not mentioned in the target article or in The Simpsons (franchise). Steel1943 (talk) 05:07, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Quigibo & Quijibo
- Quigibo → The Simpsons#Idioms (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
- Quijibo → The Simpsons#Idioms (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Neither of these terms are mentioned in the target article. Steel1943 (talk) 05:03, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- Both are misspellings of kwyjibo a gag which is mentioned in the article of the episode Bart the Genius though I’m not sure if they should be kept since I’m not sure how plausible these misspellings are.--67.68.28.220 (talk) 06:11, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Repeal of alcohol prohibition
- Repeal of alcohol prohibition → Twenty-first Amendment to the United States Constitution (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Prohibition repeal is not exclusive to the United States; it has also happened in Canada. Steel1943 (talk) 04:21, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Direct election of Senators
- Direct election of Senators → Seventeenth Amendment to the United States Constitution (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
This redirect could be considered ambiguous since the United States is not the only country with senators. (Also, a related redirect, Direct election of United States senators, exists.) Steel1943 (talk) 04:12, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Black voting rights
- Black voting rights → Fifteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
The redirect is not exclusive to its target; its target is just essentially a subtopic if this redirect’s topic. This redirect’s subject seems like a candidate for WP:REDLINK. In addition, I reviewed Voting rights in the United States (a possible retargeting option), and I did not seem to find a section that details the subject enough to warrant a retargeting. That, and the redirect may be vague anyways since the United States is not the entire world. Steel1943 (talk) 04:10, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Bill of Rights Article 13
- Bill of Rights Article 13 → Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
The target is not part of the United States Bill of Rights; the aforementioned subject represented "amendments" 1–10. Steel1943 (talk) 04:03, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
12th Amendment USC
- 12th Amendment USC → Twelfth Amendment to the United States Constitution (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
"USC" does not seem like an initialism that is used for the United States Constitution. It seems that some cases of "USC" referring to United States law refer to "United States Congress". Steel1943 (talk) 04:00, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Intrastate Coal and Use Act
- Intrastate Coal and Use Act → Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution#Intrastate Coal and Use Act (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Not mentioned in target article and apparently not directly related to the target. Per third-party searches, if no alternative target exists, this redirect’s subject may be notable enough for its own article (delete per WP:REDLINK.) Steel1943 (talk) 03:56, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Plead the third
- Plead the third → Third Amendment to the United States Constitution (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
To "plead the fifth" is notable, but when it comes to "pleading" United States constitutional amendmends, it does not seem as though the "plead the ..." has notable use for any other amendments. Steel1943 (talk) 03:43, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
27 words
- 27 words → Second Amendment to the United States Constitution (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Yes, this amendment has 27 words, but this doesn’t seem to be an alternative name for the target. Steel1943 (talk) 03:40, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Diversity clause
- Diversity clause → Article Three of the United States Constitution (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
I’m not finding what this redirect refers to. There are some resources that stated that "Article 3, section 2" refers to diversity, but that’s a section, not a clause. Steel1943 (talk) 03:29, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Art. II
- Art. II → Article Two of the United States Constitution (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
It is not clear nor guaranteed that this redirect refers to its target. I was considering retargeting this redirect to Article Two, but there’s no guarantee that all cases of the abbreviation "Art." in this case refer to "Article". Steel1943 (talk) 03:24, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
10 amendmets
- 10 amendmets → United States Bill of Rights (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Unlikely misspelling of "amendments". Steel1943 (talk) 03:18, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Essential liberty
- Essential liberty → United States Bill of Rights (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Not mentioned in the target article, thus the connection is unclear. Due to this, there is a chance that readers will be WP:ASTONISH-ed when arriving at the target page when looking g up this term. Steel1943 (talk) 03:17, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Bill.of.Rights
- Bill.of.Rights → Bill of rights (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Unlikely search term due to use of periods. Steel1943 (talk) 03:16, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Bill of responsibilities
- Bill of responsibilities → Bill of rights (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Does not seem to be an alternative name for he target. This redirect once targetedHuman responsibilities, which is now a redirect towards Moral responsibility. Steel1943 (talk) 03:13, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Bill of Rights (disambiguation)
- Bill of Rights (disambiguation) → Bill of rights (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Target is not a disambiguation. (However, Bill of Rights was a disambiguation page ... twice ... since 2006.) Steel1943 (talk) 03:11, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Salaciousness
An unmentioned redirect that may have been eligible for WP:X1 if it were still active. Steel1943 (talk) 02:45, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Wikipedia:KILL
- Wikipedia:KILL → Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Seems highly insensitive to be redirecting this to a page about deceased Wikipedians. Perhaps there is a more appropriate target, but I doubt it, and think that deletion is the most appropriate course of action here. IntoThinAir (talk) 02:35, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- Delete as vandalism. Steel1943 (talk) 02:36, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- Delete with fire. K.e.coffman (talk) 02:39, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Turpiquilum
Not mentioned in target article, and I’m not finding a definition for this term in general via third-party search engines. Steel1943 (talk) 02:35, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
European race
- European race → Caucasian race (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
There's no such thing as the "European race". News searches bring up various races and rallies in Europe. This term is occasionally used in literature, but mostly in fringe contexts: [1]. FYI, the first RfD discussion is here: Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2014 March 25#European race. Looking at the page history: the redirect's creator was blocked in 2008 for disruption in race-related articles: [2], and has not returned.
--K.e.coffman (talk) 00:47, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- Delete. First RfD closed with a claims of consensus for the current redirect, but this reads to me like thinly-veiled white supremacy. jps (talk) 02:58, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
