Prashna Shakya is a Nepali pop singer who has lent her voice in independent music and Kollywood songs. She debuted in Nepali music with her own album Hi Hello in 1997 AD and got recognization.[1]

Biography

Prashna Shakya was born in April 26 as the eldest children of her parents Mr. Binod Shakya & mrs. Sumitra Shakya in Dharan. She grew up in Dharan itself, under the care of her grandparents and got educated form Vijaypur Bording High school. Prashna started her singing journey early in her childhood when she used to sing in Chimeki Sajh.[2]

Career

She gained musical expertise from Padmakanya Campus , Dillibazar, Kathmandu during her Bachelor degree in music and from private musical institution Do Re Ma & Gandarva. She stepped in musical industry in 1997with album Hi Hello. Then she participated in singing show 'Timro Sur Mero Sangeet" where she emerged as a winner. That laid a way for her to release her second album 'Aawaz' in 2003. Then she released 'Udayan' in 2008 and 'Prashna' in 2015. She was awarded as the Best Pop Performance Female by Hit FM for the song 'Aawaz Deu" in 2003. Over the course of time she has given her voice un multiple hits like Badal Barsha, Gaule Jeevan, Mutu Nai Chirideu , Akhama Ayera, Lhasa Ko Chiso, Jamara Ma Jau, Oielaeko Phool ,Tme chaau ma chhu, Hey kanchha and many others. She has also given voice in different Nepali Movies also. [1]
