Rudy Rotter (1913–2001) was an American outsider and self-taught artist raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.[1] Rotter worked as a dentist in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, retiring in 1987 and moved his art production into a large studio which also became his self-created museum.[2] Rudy created over 15,000 pieces of art, sculptures and drawings, which he housed in this rented warehouse.[3]

Rotter's work is in the collections of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, INTUIT, Museum of Wisconsin Art, University of Wisconsin - Manitowoc, and the American Visionary Art Museum.[4]
