The song was by Winwood and Capaldi. Capaldi nearly always wrote primarily as lyricist to Winwood's musical compositions. Winwood on the whole had a higher profile because of his remarkable voice and previous career, so it's not misleading.

What is the source for Chris Wood doing the spoken section on Giving to You? I never saw that reported, and the spoken voice sounds exactly like Winwood's, which was well known from interviews.
