Dalia Leinartė (born 25 October 1958) is a Lithuanian historian, author and UN expert. She is a member and former Chair of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and is Professor of Family History at Vytautas Magnus University. In 2018, Apolitical selected her as one of the 100 most influential people in gender policy around the world.[1]
Education
Leinartė was born in 1958, in Trakai, Lithuania (former USSR). In 1981, she graduated from Vilnius University and in 1996 she completed her PhD program in history at the Vytautas Magnus University.[2] She was a Visiting Professor in Gender Studies Program at Idaho State University, a Research Scholar at American Association of University Women and a FULBRIGHT Scholar at State University of New York at Buffalo.[2][3]
