== Unsupported Opinion ==
The article, as of September 11, 2019, includes the observation that Carter's 1976 victory in Texas "was a relatively weak performance for a victorious Democratic candidate in Texas." This is pure opinion. Nothing is cited to support this view. Carter won the state with more than 50 percent of the vote, the first Democrat in 12 years to win a majority of Texas voters. And he would be the last Democrat, as of 2016, to carry the state. I challenge the view that this is a "weak" performance.
