Corbin Bleu (born Corbin Bleu Reivers on February 21, 1989) is an American actor, model, dancer and vocalist. He is perhaps best known for his roles in the film Catch That Kid, the TV movie High School Musical and the series Flight 29 Down. He is often known for his extremely curly brown hair.
Biography
Early life
Corbin was born in Brooklyn, New York to Jamaican American actor David Reivers and an Italian American mother;[1] he has three younger sisters. Bleu, who plays the piano,[2] began his career as a dancer and became a model for stores such as Macy's, GAP, Target, and Toys "R" Us.
Career
Corbin appeared in the theatrical films Galaxy Quest (1999) and Catch That Kid (2004), before coming to fame for his role in the 2006 Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical and the Discovery Kids series Flight 29 Down. Bleu also guest starred in the pilot episode of Disney Channel's Hannah Montana and appeared in the 2006 Disney Channel Games, where he was a member of the winning Blue Team, along with Jason Earles, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Monique Coleman, Cole Sprouse and Brenda Song. He has also starred in one episode of Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide.
During the fall of 2006, Bleu appeared on the second season of Flight 29 Down and on stage in An Evening with Stephen Schwartz, a benefit for a Santa Clarita Valley professional regional theater.[3] He is slated to star in two Disney Channel movies set for release in 2007: Jump In!, in which he will play a boxer with an interest in jump roping, and High School Musical 2: Sing It All Or Nothing! Bleu's debut music album, Another Side is scheduled for release on April 17, 2007. Bleu has stated that the album will have a "pop-R&B feel".[2]
