Jane C. S. Long is an American energy and climate scientist. She is particularly known for her contributions to geoengineering.
Life
She graduated from Brown University, and University of California, Berkeley.[1] She was dean of the Mackay School of Mines at the University of Nevada, Reno, director of the Great Basin Center for Geothermal Energy, and chair of the Nevada State Task Force on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.[2] She also worked at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and the Lawrence Livermore National Lab, where from 2004 she was Associate Director for Energy and Environment.[3][4] Most recently, she was a visiting researcher at UC Berkeley, and a scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund. She headed the Bipartisan Center's Geoengineering Task Force and studies on California's energy future for the California Council on Science and Technology.
