ActivTrak is a cloud-based tool to track employee activity. The company was developed in 2012 by Birch Grove Software in Austin, Texas.[1]

The tool uses machine learning (AI) to pick up the most productive workflows in an organization and then replicate them to analyze employee productivity. [2] The core functionality is a tracking agent that collects data on employee activity.[3] The tool works on Windows, macOS, and Linux.[3]

In 2019 ActivTrak raised $20 million in funding from Elsewhere Partners, a growth-stage venture capital firm that principally invests in B2B startups.[4] According to Herb Axilrod, co-founder of ActivTrak, the capital will be used to maintain their office in Dallas and establish the headquarters in Austin, Texas.
