Hi! You removed my section that I edited on America’s Next Top Model Cycle 17. I couldn’t cite it because the quote came from YouTube video and Wikipedia doesn’t allow YouTube videos as a source.
How can I correct this?

WAM 2019 Postcard: All postcards are postponed due to the postal system shut down

Wikipedia Asian Month 2019
Wikipedia Asian Month 2019

Dear all participants and organizers,

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, all the postcards are postponed due to the shut down of the postal system all over the world. Hope all the postcards can arrive as soon as the postal system return and please take good care.

Best regards,

Wikipedia Asian Month International Team 2020.03

James I. O'Neill High School

Hello! I saw you deleted my posts from this page. I attended high school at O'Neill and know the information about these alumni to be true. I would appreciate it if you could put the information back? They are very important people in our school, their pictures are hung in the main lobby! It has not been updated in a very long time so I made those updates all at once! Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Youknowwho121212 (talkcontribs) 18:12, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Youknowwho121212: While the information you added may be true, lists should follow the guidelines at WP:CSC, namely that each entry should fulfill the notability guideline. Generally, that means that each person listed should already have an article written about them.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 18:57, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ganbaruby i need help

Ganabaruny, i made some edits to a few pages that werent very good. later, i actully made some that helped! however, my posts still got deleted. can you please fix this?

Thanks, John Doe

By the way, i would actully like to help wikipedia out :)

You'll need to be more specific with what you need help with. If you genuinely want to positively contribute, maybe start at Wikipedia:The_Wikipedia_Adventure.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 03:32, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

silly edit

This edit is very silly: You said I added an external link when all I did was correct a punctuation error in the already existing external link, then you said you were reverting my edit because the link shouldn't be there even though your reversion of my edit left the link intact and only reinstated the punctuation error.

Whoops. I've taken the entire link out. Thanks for the heads up.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 03:35, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tempelhofer Feld

I live in Berlin. I do not have a source, I could provide pictures, but I don't have time. Why do you want to make a tiny stub tinier? I think you are wasting your and my time. Thanks a lot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.183.9.35 (talk) 13:37, 26 April 2020 (UTC) By the way, do you actually read things before you delete them and use your own knowledge, or do you just delete things without thinking?[reply]

What you added may be true, but you need to have a citation for your claims. Without citing a source, your addition counts as original research, otherwise there is no way of verifying the truthfulness of your claims. Please see this guide to see how to incorporate references.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 13:43, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. This is an invitation to join the 50,000 Destubbing Challenge Focus of the Week. £250 (c. $310) is being given away in May, June and July with £20 worth of prizes to give away every week for most articles destubbed. Each week there is a different region of focus, including one week dedicated to South-South East Asia, though half the prize will still be rewarded for articles on any subject. There's a potential £120 to be won in total for destubbing on any subject or region of your choice. Sign up if you want to contribute at least one of the weeks or support the idea! † Encyclopædius 11:37, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Encyclopædius: Thanks for organizing the challenge! Just a quick question: are there plans for a "focus of the week" that includes East Asia, specifically Taiwan and Japan? Those are the two regions I usually edit in.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 12:05, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I can include Taiwan. Remember though that half the prize every week is given to topic or subject of choice. So you could technically do Japan throughout and win up to £120! IIf it's a success I may even consider doing a challenge/contest for Japan later in the year if the virus issue dies down.† Encyclopædius 12:08, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Encyclopædius: No worries, I'm not too concerned about the prize money. I was just thinking about how there's a lot of stubs to be worked on not just here, but in China and South Korea as well, and whether having a focus week that includes East Asia would promote other Wikipedians to join the effort.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 12:22, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, a huge number of stubs, East Asia really needs it's own contest. I'll see how this goes, it's possible we could do one for Japan, China. Taiwan, the Koreas and eastern Russia a bit later in the year and even launch a 1000 article challenge for Japan, we'll see.† Encyclopædius 12:31, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

why did you remove my purple vs green gang pages

please revert them back. they are true statements. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chillingsley (talkcontribs) 09:34, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Chillingsley: I don't see how any sort of comparison for a "better" gang can be made between the two, since they aren't even located in the same country. Nevertheless, if you have a reliable souce that backs up your claim, feel free to add it back.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 09:39, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Derek angol

hello I noticed you edited my dad derek angol's page I have just tried to edit the page with some correct facts but and someone has now added it for deletion and removed what I have added is there anyway you can help — Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnnyahmed (talkcontribs) 12:15, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Johnnyahmed: I'm not very familiar with boxing, so there's not much I can help content-wise. The biggest concern about the article is whether if passes the notability guideline. My advice is to find sources that pass WP:GNG first, then incorporate that into the article. Also, do not revert other editors' edits on talk pages or in the AfD discussion; those should be retained for future reference.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 16:23, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good news

Updated the contest so there is a prize now for doing Japan destubs for Asia!† Encyclopædius 14:07, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Encyclopædius: Good stuff! Thanks for the hard work!   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 16:12, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Team, I made External links which are related to this encyclopedia India tourism by state. So can I know the reason? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akshay843 (talkcontribs) 09:05, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

See your talk page comrade waddie96 (talk) 09:07, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Akshay843: Not all external websites are suitable to be included within the external links section, as outlined in WP:EL. Specifically, your links don't fulfill #11, which state that blogs are not to be included.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 09:10, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits reverted

Hello. I'm new to this, and apologize if I missed something. However, you quickly "reverted" some edits I made to the Woman's Exponent / Exponent II article, and I'd like to understand better what gives. My first edit was mostly about layout, I guess, and the other two added a few facts. I followed the WP:CITE link you kindly provided but that states that specific citation is required only for "any material challenged or likely to be challenged, and for all quotations," not for every single point. None of the information I added seems to meet the "likely to be challenged" test, and the layout changes are surely even less controversial. The official policy makes sense, as citing every fact, which is something no major encyclopedia does, would be impractical. Britannica, for example, might mention one or two sources for a whole article, and even academic papers don't footnote everything. You surely do not revert every contribution by us readers and occasional editors? I would be happy to seek out some sources, but I am sure you also have experts on the Wikipedia team who help with this, and at any rate this takes time, what with paywalls and closed libraries in these virus-ridden times. You understand, I hope, that just having everything I did between calls removed within minutes does not encourage further participation, and contributes to a reputation I've read about in newspapers for a somewhat closed or unwelcoming attitude? I understand that you are all volunteers but if you have a chance to reply, that would be helpful. Thank you,83.220.238.100 (talk) 09:45, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ideally on Wikipedia, every single piece of information, no matter how small, should have a reliable source backing it up, as per one of our core verifiability policies. WP:CITE doesn't say that only controversial pieces of information should be cited, but instead highlights that controversial information and quotes have to be cited, but others should also be cited as well. This is how we make sure information to Wikipedia is as close to the truth as we can get. I'm not accusing you of making stuff up; however, the problem lies with I can't be sure that you aren't making stuff either, which is why citing everything is important, even if "impractical". Because of the technical aspects of the anti-vandalism program I was using, I happened to revert your formatting changes as well, which I'll be happy to restore. I couldn't find any aspect of your edits that were just "layout". You might want to take a look at Help:Referencing for beginners before you add information back into the article. Please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 12:13, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Correct use of rollback

Hi. My understanding is that rollback should *only* be used for suspected vandalism, which this quite clearly wasn't. 86.134.212.26 (talk) 10:36, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, standard rollback other uses (see WP:ROLLBACKUSE), and rollback through other tools (in my case, Huggle) is used for more reasons since it provides an edit summary. As for your edit, while leads are typically written summary-style, they are not exempt from our citation policies (see MOS:LEADCITE), especially for recent events such as the COVID-19 pandemic.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 10:45, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Of course, preventing misinformation is highly relevant. ( Though if you care to look at the edit summary [1], I suspect you may not be so trigger happy :)

Hello, I work in relation to the head of the office of the person concerned. I am trying to update the information on his Wikipedia page in English. I will bring the sources as I go along. Is it possible ? Thank you for your reply. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pierre Djeffel (talkcontribs) 10:39, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Pierre Djeffel: No. You are under the burden to provide sources at the time you write more information, especially since we are dealing with a biographies of living persons, which requires us to be very strict with the rules. I suggest to use your sandbox (found at User:Pierre Djeffel/sandbox) to write the information, and when properly sourced, copy it into the article.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 10:50, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am extremely thankful that you decided to raise the issue of my username with me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stupid shithead (talkcontribs) 11:07, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi This is Aash Jaiswal. I Just got the notification that you just removed some of my links one or more external links That I added to Joyita Mondal because they seemed inappropriate to you . Actually I want backlinks to promote my website and i have written noting wrong in it so as I m new will you help me to get backlinks. Please. Thanking You Akash Jaiswal — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alpaul888 (talkcontribs) 11:11, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Alpaul888: No. Promotional external links like yours are prohibited under WP:ELNO#promotion. Wikipedia also uses nofollow, meaning that linking here will not help your site get more backlinks.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 12:11, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fatma Said

Hi. If the query concerns her international reputation, here's a citation: https://www.aucegypt.edu/about/benefit-dinner/fatma-said (perhaps I should have added it before). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.8.248.8 (talk) 11:19, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The issue here isn't referencing, but a neutral point of view issue, specifically WP:PUFFERY. You'll need to explain how and why she's "establishing an international reputation", as well as showing that she's noteworthy enought to belong in a broad summary page such as Music of Egypt.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 12:17, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
