The Portland Rising is a professional womxn's ultimate team based in Portland, ME which competes in the Premier Ultimate League (PUL).
Franchise history
Portland Rising formed for the 2020 season as part of an 4 team expansion to the league.[1][2] The team is co-owned by Maddie Purcell of Brunswick and Chloe Rowse[1]. This is the first women's professional sports team in Maine[1]. On March 16, 2020 the team announced its roster for the inaugural season.[3]
The team would have played its second season in 2020, but the PUL cancelled the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4][5]
