"Shankar too displayed her mastery on the instrument and did full justice to all the lessons that had been given to her by her grandmother. She improvised upon raag Yaman, giving it her own touch, which was very innovative yet had the stamp of the guru N Rajam. The speed, clarity of music and her mastery over the violin emerged in the performance. The audience appreciated with a vigorous round of applause"[34]
