In 1990, Ivan Crossland Sr., diagnosed with cancer, began to train his six sons to take over the company. While still acting as CEO, Crossland Sr. launched Crossland Heavy Contractors (CHC) with the help of his sons in 1993. Crossland Heavy Contractors is ranked among the top 100 environmental firms in the United States. A team of real builders with the capabilities to perform the majority of the work on the projects they deliver allows them to manage projects more closely and keeps them competitive. They offer construction services in a variety of markets. The division specializes in Heavy Civil and Industrial, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Water Treatment Plants, Pump Stations, Site Development, Municipal: Water, Sewer and Storm Utilities, Municipal: Parks and Recreation, Transportation.[1][3]

In the same year, Crossland Construction opened up a branch in Northwest Arkansas. Along with the Rogers branch, and their home office still located in Columbus, Kansas, the company now has offices in Denver, Colorado; Kansas City, Missouri; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Prosper, Texas; Springfield, Missouri; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Wichita, Kansas. Along with their regional offices, the company also has their Midwest - Construction Management/Hard Bid Division, and their Midwest - Design Build Division operating out of their headquarters in Columbus, Kansas and their Civil Division operating out of their Rogers, Arkansas office. Today the company builds in the following sectors; Athletic/Sporting Facilities, Community, Educational, Hotels, Housing, Industrial, Medical/Healthcare, Office, Religious, Retail, and Roads/Infrastructure and is licensed to do so in 37 states.
