Plot

Zim reveals that he's inside Dib's body

Dib sneaks into Zim's base one night after GIR leaves the door open, and takes a picture of Zim out of his disguise. He then escapes and plans to send them to the paranormal show Mysterious Mysteries. The next day, Dib is ready to send the disk to the show when all of a sudden he crushes it, and it is revealed that Zim has shrunken himself, infiltrating Dib's body in a micro-submarine hidden deep in his lunch. Dib sends one of his father's microships into his body to combat him, but Zim cheats and attacks Dib directly (attacking his "arm-control nerve...yes, arm-control nerve"), rendering him incapable of fighting back. Dib's sister Gaz then grabs the controls and defeats Zim, but not before he damages Dib's memory, making him forget where he hid the copies of the photograph. Nevertheless, Dib then goes to the toilet and has Zim flushed away.

Trivia

  • The coughing fits Gir experiences after drinking at the start are caused by the voice actor's inability to do that sound without violently coughing afterward. [1] [citation needed]
  • Zim can be seen with his PAK off in this episode. It was said by Vasquez that Irkens who do not have their PAKs will slowly lose their memory and other life functions over the course of ten minutes (as shown in the unfinished season two episode, Ten Minutes to Doom)
  • There is a game called "Nanochase" on Nick.com based on this episode.
  • Notice that throughout the episode Zim's eyes are green and his skin is red. This might be due to the lighting in Zim's ship (this color scheme is also used in the unaired pilot when Zim is inside his robotic armor). However, in one scene his eyes change back to their normal red color despite still being in the ship, probably a coloring error.
  • When Dib regains control of his arms he touches his nose with both. This is similar to the test given to determine eye-hand coordination for intoxicated individuals by police.
  • Dib references Mortal Kombat when he says, "now for my finishing move."
