Born in London, England, Robin Atkin Downes is an English actor who is best known for his work in voice acting.

His more prominent roles in the field of video game voice work include The Prince in Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, Rohn in Lair, Prince Rurik in Guild Wars Prophecies, Zhed Shadowhoof in Guild Wars Nightfall, Luxord in Kingdom Hearts II, Seijiro Makabe in Fatal Frame II, Genesis in Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-, Origin and Botta in Tales of Symphonia, Gamov in Ninja Gaiden, Cyclops and Pyro in X-Men Legends, Grand Admiral Thrawn in the expansion for Star Wars: Empire at War, The Prophet of Regret in Halo 2, Rico in Just Cause, Sagacious Zu in Jade Empire, Lt. Kim in Gears of War, Various Soldiers in Metal Gear Solid 3/Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Seph in Baten Kaitos Origins, Atoq Navarro in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Delita Heiral in Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, the evil mastermind Mysterio in Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Dane Bishop from Syphon Filter: Logans Shadow, the Medic in Team Fortress 2, and Travis Touchdown in No More Heroes. He also voiced one of the protagonists in the games Onimusha Blade Warriors and in Onimusha 3: Demon Siege.

He also voiced the DC Comics villain known as the Gentleman Ghost in the animated television series Justice League Unlimited and The Guardians of the Universe on Justice League: The New Frontier.

In live action, he had a prominent recurring role as the renegade telepath Byron on the television series Babylon 5. He also played Grey Council member Morann in Babylon 5: In the Beginning

He is married to Michelle Ann Young.
