Canadian Corps - Canadian war graves.jpg

[edit]

I appreciate you catching that. I must have made an error in the input and noted 1918 instead of 1916 (which is clearly demonstrated in the photo). I have updated the photo with the information you provided. Good job! --Labattblueboy (talk) 02:14, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's nothing personal, it's simply how Wikipedia has set out its content policies. With regards to image galleries, for greater detail please see: Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Image_galleries. I would personally suggest either inserting images in appropriate sub-sections or uploading them to Wikipedia Commons. The Wikipedia Commons is considered the image repository while Wikipedia proper is not. I created a category in the commons specifically for the memorial a while back to make the process easier. let me know if I can help in any other capacity.--Labattblueboy (talk) 15:57, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect the only Canadian WWI memorial where a gallery would be applicable would be the Vimy Memorial, and only because of the numerous statues and features. This was the case for including a gallery for the Fountain of Time memorial. National War Memorial (South Australia) used it to show adjacent memorials and South African War Memorial (South Australia) bronze plaques which are mounted on the memorial. I'm not opposed to image galleries but they must have some purpose and in emphasizing or supporting existing written material and certainly more that a single image. Please take notice that the image has been included in the article as there is not sufficent written material to permit so.--Labattblueboy (talk) 04:19, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
