Ambassador[1] Gabriel Aduda is a Nigerian civil servant who currently serves as the Permanent Secretary for the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs|Nigerian Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Gabriel Aduda, who previously served in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development was redeployed to the ministry of Foreign Affairs in December 2020. He is responsible for formulating and conducting the execution of Nigeria’s foreign policy and external promotion of Nigeria's domestic vision and ideals. He previously served as Director, Economic Research and Policy Management with the Federal Ministry of Finance and Head of Strategy and Reorientation at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and many more.
He is a strategic leader with over 22 years of experience in public and private sectors. He has anchored and implemented key initiatives within the civil and public service which led to several innovative launches, including the restructuring of the Federal Civil Service, reclassification of sports from recreation to business thereby opening doors for greater private sector investments in the industry. A visionary, he has brought his forward-thinking concepts to bear on several technical committees within and outside the public sector. Extensive personnel with business development experience and proficiency in Public policy, Corporate Compliance and Ethics, Strategy formulation and reforms management.
Early life and education
Amb. Aduda has a BSc. in Geography and Planning from the University of Jos, a Master’s Degree in Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Ibadan (1998), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Corruption Studies from the University of Hong Kong (2012). He has also attended many training courses locally and internationally, including the “Implementing Public Policy Executive Education Program” at the Harvard Kennedy School.[2]

Controversy
In 2017, Gabriel Aduda was is in the spotlight as there were alleged rumours that he is not qualified for the position of the Permanent Secretary when he was appointed by the vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Gabriel is the younger brother to Senator Phillip Tanimu Aduda, the senator representing the Federal Capital Territory.
A report by Sahara Reporters and other media outlets suggests that the federal government may have appointed an unqualified person as a permanent secretary[10]. This led to many Calling for his dismissal from the position. Three years on, the president Muhammadu Buhari administration has elevated the civil servant to the position of permanent secretary and he has served in different offices.
