Sustainability is an international, cross-disciplinary, scholarly, peer-reviewed and open access journal of environmental, cultural, economic, and social sustainability of human beings. It aims to provide an advanced forum for studies related to sustainability and sustainable development, and is published semi-monthly online by MDPI.

Disputed status as a predatory journal

There have been debates about whether Sustainability is a predatory journal. On the one hand, due to the journal's publication practices, it has repeatedly been argued that Sustainability is a predatory journal.[1] It had been on Beall's List, which lists predatory journals, but has later been removed.[1] Editors from other MDPI journals have resigned because they felt the publisher tried to pressure them into accepting mediocre articles.[2] On the other hand, the journal is indexed in Clarviate's InCites Journal Citation Reports and it has a reasonable Journal Impact Factor.[3]
