Talk:Berserk (manga)
For the curious
For the curious... the article on Berserk is now here instead of at Berserk (anime) because the manga came first and is still ongoing. -Sean Curtin 07:50, 16 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Berserk is now about the bersrk anime and manga. The old article no longer exsists... i think... it was mainly an article that started out about berserker but, as that aricle already exsisted, was redirected to that aricle, then later to berserker (disambiguation) then later to berserk (manga) .... i thought it would be good just to cut the garbage and have the berserk article be about the berserk anime and manga. This page contains a link to the disambiguation page, besides, berserk is not commonly used in english as a noun. -Aknorals 00:43, 12 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Some things
: One gets a sense that even though the story is already incredibly long and drawn out, Miura is following a well-drafted plan approaching some final resolution. At present, however, with 26 full volumes of manga released on the Japanese market, the story shows no signs of slowing down, or concluding any time soon.
Miura has stated in an interview that the manga is still in the beginning, the main events will focus on Griffith. I don't know when he said this or where to find the interview however. <-- Then it might be better not to say it.
: The series opens with an epilogue. In a dark time, a pack of the king's guards are harassing a young lady in distress
It should be clearer that this refers to the anime, or changed to what happens in the manga.
: the anime also has a number of cuts related to characters such as Puck or the Skull Knight, who play very little if any role at the point in the story where the anime ends. One problem with this approach is that it leaves the possibility of a direct sequel season almost impossible, unless the writers further alter Miura's story, or some sort of retconning is done.
Not really, first, Skull Knight is a deus ex machina, second, Puck could easily be introduced in a filler episode as there's a gap after the prologue.
- The bad guys, messengers of "the god not created by men".
I always thought it was "the god created by men"... I know that the Hawks are notorious for their mistranslations though :)
Someone please do something about this! Or comment on it some and I'll do it. -- Philip Nilsson 19:30, 4 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Kay, I tweaked around some things. -- Philip Nilsson 22:18, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- 1. Miura ALWAYS says "this is just the begining..."
- 2. It's "the god created by man"
- 3. Somone should note that the manga is much more violent and graphic than the anime (orgies in anime: 0 orgies in manga: 1 every 7 volumes on average)
4. how do I put the time, date, and name automaticly at the end?edit: figured this out - Aknorals 21:54, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)5. Wouldn't it be nice and neat if this page was moved to Berserk ... I mean this page already contains a link to Berserker (disambiguation)- 6. Yes, Skull Knight is a deus ex machina ^_^ "oh your not supposed to die yet, I'll save you!" - Aknorals
If I don't want a title, I don't want a title (but I gues I do want another season)
See History (Its a talk page)
If thy do not continue the anime I am going to rather pissed. It sort of ended with a lot hanging in the balance. I have read the first the volume of manga, so can sort of understand that there are kind-of-sort-of (i.e. heaps) gaps between manga/anime (the whole Puck-thing, sex-with-succubi, elongated fights, that evil dream foetus etc.). But honestly there is no way they can just leave it at the end of the Griffith transformation. I don't care if the anime/manga are different, and the marketers shouldn't either (you have to buy both ka-ching $$$$). The series I got was various translations, so names varied a lot as well as the man-made god, god-over-all-men, god-who-created-man deal (and wether Gatts was "hundred-man killer" or "century-slayer"). --ZayZayEM 12:34, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Kentarou Miura interviews, and things
I'll try collecting a nice list of articles/interviews with Kentarou Miura/about Berserk for both this article and the Kentaro Miura article. -- Philip Nilsson 22:18, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC) -- Please add anything you find here!
- A nice Kentarou Miura biography.
- The same interview that is linked in the article.
- An interview with the anime series producer, Toshio Nakatani.
Not an interview, but a hint to where *the* interview is. Or maybe there are more than one :)Ah, that's just the image book.
