LOL, whose full original title is LOL: Last One Laughing, is an internationally comedy format through the Prime Video platform. It has been adapted in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Mexico.[1]
Rules
Ten comedians of the country are for a few hours (usually six) closed in a room, in which they must try to make their opponents laugh in any way and by any means: at the first laugh, the competitor is cautioned while at the second he is forced to abandon the game. The comedians can also been eliminated if they aren't enough active: in some editions some comedians are eliminated during the last two hours because they was the less active in the room. The only way to communicate with the outside is a telephone controlled by the conductor.[2]
Versions
Mexico
The Mexican edition is titled LOL: Last One Laughing. The first season, consisting of 6 episodes, was released in 2018, while the second, also of 6 episodes, in 2019. The series has not been renewed for a third season.
Australia
The Australian edition, distributed under the title LOL: Australia, was hosted by Rebel Wilson: the first season was released in 2020.[3]
Italy
The Italian edition is entitled LOL - Chi ride è fuori and is hosted by singer Fedez and TV personality Mara Maionchi. The first season consists of a total of six episodes, of which the first four was made available on April 1st 2021, while the remaining two were released on April 8th 2021.[4]
Germany
The german edition is entitled LOL: Last One Laughing Germany and is conducted by actor and comedian Michael "Bully" Herbig. The first season consists of a total of six episodes and is released in April 2021. [5]
Spain and France
The Spanish and French edition have been announced and they are called respectively LOL: Si te ríes, pierdes[6] and LOL: Qui rit, sort!.
