Nadia Yassir
Template:24 character Nadia Yassir is a fictional character from TV series 24 played by Marisol Nichols. As the Associate Special Agent in Charge of the CTU Los Angeles Domestic Unit, Nadia is Second-in-Command and right-hand woman to Bill Buchanan. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Languages from the University of Michigan.
Before joining the Counter Terrorist Unit, she was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency, first as an "Intelligence Agent for Middle East Territories" then as a "Senior Intelligence Agent". Her first assignment with CTU was as the Director of Intelligence for the Detroit Domestic Unit.
Given her name and knowledge of the Arabic language, it is possible that she is of Arab American or other Middle Eastern background.
Day 6
After CTU Los Angeles return operations as a government agency apart from Homeland Security by Karen Hayes's request and Bill Buchanan is reinstated as Special Agent in Charge, Nadia is brought to be his Chief of Staff.
Nadia is an attractive, strong and skilled woman that, to impose her authority, will be trying to control every action of Chloe O'Brian, who has a history of breaking rules and going as far as needed to assist rogue ex-agent Jack Bauer. She is notable in CTU for being able to speak and understand Arabic. Being the Chief of Staff at CTU she takes charge when Bill Buchanan and Curtis Manning go to get Jack Bauer from Chinese custody. She is soon to find out that Morris O'Brian and Chloe O'Brian use personal satellite surveillance to spy on the exchange that was suposed to take place bettween Jack Bauer and Hamri Al-Assad. Abu Fayed soon found out and demanded that it be stopped. When Nadia denied that she had any knowlege of it Abu gave her 30 seconds to redirect the satellite, or he would not give CTU Assad's location. After the satellite was redirected at the last minute, Abu told her that he would have to think about whether or not he was going to give them Assad's location. Nadia speaks to him in Arabic to try to appeal to him, but he hangs up on her. At the same time Bill Buchanan walks into CTU, visibly angered. He blames everything on Chloe and says "We may have sacrificed Jack for nothing."
Throughout the next few hours she remains second in command at CTU under Bill Buchanan. With her ability to speak Arabic she is able to decode a message that someone at one the detention facilities may have overheard. Nadia was able to make out "5 visitors." Visitors, meaning a covert code name for weapons, reveals there are 4 more currently available weapons waiting to be released.
