Hideaki Utsumi (内海 秀明, Utsumi Hideaki), aka Tono2097, is a video game sound designer, musician, composer and artist. He is best known for sound design for the Resident Evil video game series. He is a member of the band named mT, and plays the keyboard and midi stick. He is the first midi stick player in the world. Midi stick is like a video game joy stick of old times.[1][2][3][4]

Utsumi worked in Capcom's sound design department for 14 years. He left in 2009 to teach at HAL Osaka Technical School.[5]

In 2021, a video recorded and uploaded to Instagram of Gumi, a pet Chattering lory owned by Utsumi, would become infamous on the internet and form the basis of an internet meme. Within weeks of the video being published, Utsumi's YouTube channel would surpass 100,000 subscribers and accrue over 10 million channel views.[6]
