Good Sam is an upcoming American medical drama television series created by Katie Wech for CBS. The series is set to premiere as a midseason entry in the during the 2021–22 television season.

Premise

Talented yet stifled heart surgeon Sam Griffith (Sophia Bush) embraces her leadership role after her renowned and pompous boss (Jason Isaacs) falls into a coma. When he awakens and wants to resume surgery, it's up to her to supervise this overbearing blowhard who never acknowledged her talents – which also happens to be her father.

Production

On September 19, 2019, CBS put Good Sam, a family medical drama from writer Katie Wech, who will produce the series with Jennie Snyder Urman through her Sutton St. Productions and CBS Television Studios into development.[1] In February 2020, the series was given a pilot order.[2] In February 2020, Sophia Bush was cast as Sam Griffith.[3] In March 2020, Jason Isaacs joined the cast as Sam's boss, Dr. Paul "Griff" Griffith.[4] Filming began in February 2021 in Toronto, Canada. On May 14, 2021, the show was given a series order.[5]
