Mojeek is a crawler-based search engine. It follows a no tracking privacy policy. It only uses standard log files, but IP addresses are not recorded unless a search query is deemed related to illegal and unethical practices.[1]

Mojeek's software was written from scratch, mainly in C, by Marc Smith. [2] The name of its bot is MojeekBot. It obeys the robots exclusion standard and the noindex, nocache and nofollow meta elements.[3]

Mojeek offers a customizable results page with an infobox that displays information from Wikipedia. It also offers site search in the form of a search box which uses Mojeek's standard web index. Full API access with results in XML format is available as a paid service.[4]
