Geoff Crowther was a British-born travel writer.

In April 2021, he died at the age of 77 in South East Queensland, Australia.

Early life and career

Born in Yorkshire, England, he studied biochemistry at Liverpool University.[1] Soon he lost interest in the field he studied because he was more interested in travel.[2]

In 1970s, he starting giving recommendations and made some hand-drawn maps for an alternative publisher in London.[3]

In 1977, he joined Lonely Planet.[4]
