- Indian government forces kills three suspected rebels during a gunfight in Shopian. Troops also blasted a civilian house. Another security operation is carried out hours later at an apple orchard, resulting in the death of two more militants. The raids came a day after five Indian soldiers were killed by suspected rebels. (Al Jazeera)
