M. N. Ghosh

Dr. Manindra Nath Ghosh was an Indian pharmacologist, who was the first director of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry, India.[1] Dr. Ghosh is the author of "Fundamentals of Experimental Pharmacology," which has been cited as one of the most "authoritative and influential book[s] for Pharmacy and Pharmacology."[2][3] Dr. Ghosh's work has been cited by Sir James W. Black, as a precursor to the work that would serve as the research Sir Black would win the 1988 Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine.[4] Dr. Ghosh passed away in his home in Kolkata on November 29, 2021 at the age of 97. He is survived by his wife Roma, and his three daughters.
