"Hit the Road Jack" is a song written by Percy Mayfield and recorded by Ray Charles. It hit number one for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, beginning on Monday, October 9, 1961.

This song is used in NHL arenas whenever a player is charged with a 2, 5 minute penalty or a game misconduct. It is also played whenever an NBA player fouls out of a game.
