Private Desert (Portuguese: Deserto Particular) is a 2021 Brazilian drama film directed by Aly Muritiba.[4] It was selected as the Brazilian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards.[5]

Plot

After he is fired for violence, a policeman searches the country for his online lover who unexpectedly disappeared.[4]

In his review for Variety, Manuel Betancourt said that "this Brazilian drama is a welcome and assured intervention into that country's calcified ideals about desire and masculinity."[6]
