Device?

Several of the links say that a reactor is a "device for containing and controlling a ... reaction." Given that containment usually is the primary function, and control (when it exists at all) is secondary, would it not be better to say that a reactor is a _vessel_ for containing and...? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.111.96.172 (talk) 15:13, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
