History of the mortgage

This article reads more like an explanation from a sales advisor. Whilst factual it implies that morgages just appeared from nowhere.

Surley there should be some context. For example the history and origins of taking out a mortgage to buy property and any link to its origins in the contracts used for a 25 year period of indentured slavery (which would usually include a house and small amount of land in the uk). 2.123.251.2 (talk) 05:51, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There are no citations in the history of the mortgage in america. Claims are made with citation (purchase of land is a new idea, etc.). 68.134.53.103 (talk) 14:14, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
