Prodigium Pictures is an American Social Impact Entertainment production company founded in 2011 by Austrian filmmaker Tobias Deml, Japanese filmmaker Hiroki Kamada, and Austrian impact investor Max Deml, and is headquartered in New York City. Prodigium created the HBO Max miniseries Gaming Wall Street,[1][2] as well as the open source tool G-Casper, one of the the most popular call sheet solutions in the Independent film industry.[3][4][5][6]

Overview

Prodigium specializes in the production of films, documentaries, TV shows and cause-oriented TV commercials.[7][8] The company is one of the few registered B-Corporations in the entertainment industry,[9] holding a certification score of 119.4,[10] and is a founding member of the first trade association for Social Impact Entertainment, SIE Society.[11]

Prodigium has received numerous awards for its work, most notably "Best Screenplay" for Strive at the American Black Film Festival in 2019,[12][13] as well as two Davey Gold Awards for its storytelling work with the NAACP and the March on Washington in 2020.[14][15]

In the course of producing impact-oriented content, Prodigium has been partnering with nonprofit organizations and other infrastructure partners to facilitate social impact. For its 2022 series Gaming Wall Street, Prodigium facilitated a partnership between HBO Max, Better Investing, Financial Beginnings, Operation HOPE and 8 Cents in a Jar to spread financial literacy.[16][17][18] In parallel, the company also created a market structure reform effort by partnering with #WeTheInvestors and Better Markets,[19] and open-sourced a scraping tool for the Failure to deliver data of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which Prodigium had built as part of its research process.[20]
