Radio Gateshead Deletion

Hi

I was just wondering why you deleted the wikipedia page for Radio Gateshead?

Many UK Community Radio Stations have wikipedia pages to show their credibility (i.e. to prove they're not fake) in order to show potential presenters and other businesses that they're a genuine community project. I understand that there wasn't much info on the page yet, but it was only a draft.

Thanks HTS126 (talk) 07:43, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

As stated in reasoning, it did not provide any encyclopedic content, and seemed to only be advertising the station, which has not even launched yet. You are further reinforcing that deletion by stating that you are trying to use the page to promote to businesses. MrKIA11 (talk) 07:24, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
Hi, I'm aware that it didn't provide any encyclopedic content, this was because the page was a draft and hadn't been fully written yet. We were waiting on people without conflicts of interest to contribute to the article before it was published. I think it's unfair to delete a draft due to a lack of content when surely the whole point in a draft is that the article isn't finished yet. Furthermore, I did not say the page was being used to promote to businesses, please do not take my words out of context. What I DID say was that the page is proves to the wider community (including potential presenters, businesses, listeners etc) that it is a reputable news source and genuine community project, which is essential in these days of fake news. Re: Draft:Claudiu Popa

Hello,

The first draft of the Claudiu Popa Wikipedia page was the subject of a G11 (unambiguous advertising or promotion) speedy deletion before I had a chance to review and contest the deletion. This draft was written by someone who did not fully understand how to write with a neutral and unbiased voice and they did not properly cite much of their material.

I have rewritten the page for Claudiu Popa and hope that you will consider allowing me to submit a new draft of the page that is unbiased and fits Wikipedia's encyclopedic tone. Better citations have also been sourced and in-text external links that appeared blatantly promotional have been removed.

Please let me know how to proceed!

Thank you,

I don't spend much time with drafts and AFCs, but I don't think there's a problem with you submitting a better draft. MrKIA11 (talk) 07:41, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello, MrKIA11,

We don't typically delete user talk pages unless there is BLP- or copyright-violating content on them. Especially in this case where the editor moved their user talk page to a nonexistent user space and then requested it be deleted. For some reason, I frequently come across very new editors (less than a week old) who request their user talk page be deleted. They can blank it if they so choose to. Liz Read! I went and re-read WP:CSD#U1 after your revert; I somehow forgot about that in the last few years. Thanks MrKIA11 (talk) 04:56, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
