Justin P. Ursua [1991-present]

Justin P. Ursua is the main lead guitarist from the “no permanent genre & 15 second compose” band Bistek(Beef Steak).

Justin and the instrument

Justin began playing the guitar at a very young age of 10. Ever since he was young, he has been dreaming of playing the guitar. When he was grade 4, her sister received a Gibson acoustic-nylon guitar for her birthday. Justin used the guitar more than her sister, he learns all by himself. He was originally a left handed guitarist, but he still practiced using a right handed, so he is a left-right-handed guitarist. 2 years after, he had a Rashlee acoustic-steel guitar. He used that guitar for 3 years. During the Rashlee time, he learned to play really fast and to tab a song with a few listens. In the middle of the Rashlee time, he bought a J.S. Schindler electric guitar. After 1 year, the Rashlee and the J.S. Schindler fell into the ground, which made the Rashlee broken into pieces and when the J.S. Schindler fell, the loud bang made the whole high school building quiet. It was the loudest sound that can be heard that year. Now, the J.S. Schindler has 2 cracks on the bottom but Justin readjusts his guitar to the best quality, even better than the settings before it fell. Few months after, he bought a red Weinstein acoustic-steel guitar, but there was something wrong with it, so after 1 month, he changed his guitar using the warranty. The guitar was changed to a white Weinstein acoustic-steel guitar. And again after 1 month, his final guitar came, a green Weinstein acoustic-steel guitar. This guitar mysteriously does not brake. A few months after, he learned so many guitar tricks & techniques all by himself that he almost looks like a 30-year experienced player.

The Band

Justin started a band by the name of “Strife” or “Strength of Life” which consists of 3 guitarists, 1 bass, 1 keyboard, 1 singer, 1 drummer. He and Samuel Olivar (vocalist) learned to compose songs within 15 seconds. That made them compose songs the total of 247 songs in 2005. Later, the band name was changed to “Black Gulaman”. And the start of the next school year, all band members quit exept for Justin and Samuel. Then they recuited a guitarist named Miko Mandap. Then they changed their band name from “Black Gulaman”, it became “Versatile Harmony”, then “Humbucker”, then “Whammy”, then “Acoustica”. After the name “Acoustica” was the name of the band, Samuel recruited another vocalist named Dean Carayag. Then Dean completed the band by recruiting 6 more members to the band which made the band have 2 Leads, 2 Rhythms, 1 Bass, 2 Singers, 1 Keyboard, 1 Drummer, 1 Saxophone. Then the whole band decided to change the band name again because the name “Acousica” is for the 3 players only(Justin, Samuel, Miko). The band decided to change the name to “Kcroppeq”(pronounced as kropek), but later changed to “Bistek”. Curretly, Justin teaches all the instruments while Samuel teaches the members how to be a backup vocalist.
