Chris Garver

Chris Garver, (born September 11, 1970), is a tattoo artist featured on the TLC reality television show Miami Ink. Garver was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he attended The Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts.

Garver received his first professional tattoo at age 15. He got his start in tattooing at age 17 when he sold his bass guitar in order to purchase tattoo equipment. He moved to New York City in his early twenties where he began to practice as a professional tattoo artist. He lived in Japan for a time and was tattooed by the famous Japanese Irezumi artists Horiyoshi, Horitomo, and Horitoshi. He has also been tattooed by a Buddhist Monk.

When he is not tattooing at Miami Ink he can be found at the True Tattoo shop in Hollywood, California which he owns in partnership with Clay Decker.
