Rwanda Mountain Tea Limited is a holding company established in 2005 to engage in tea production and the strategic management of the different tea factories it owns.[1][2][3] The company owns and manages 3 other tea factories under its wings (Rubaya and Nyabihu Tea Factory, Kitabi Tea Factory (“KTC”) & Tea Invest Company (“TIC”)) and is currently diversifying into the generation and sale of electricity.[1][2]

History

Rwanda Mountain Tea Ltd is situated in Rwanda's north western region and stretches down to southwestern region.[citation needed] The total area of Tea plantation is about 9646 hectares of land, and has an approximate 30,000 employee on the plantation.[citation needed] This includes casual workers of which women make about 3/3 of the total work force.[citation needed]

Tea Products

The company manufactures and trades in organic black tea CTC and Green Orthodox Tea from their Rutsiro Tea factory which is organic certified as per European (EOS) and American (NOP) Organic standards.[citation needed]
