William Mabson was an educator, minister, and state legislator in North Carolina.[1] He served in the North Carolina House of Representatives.[2] He was one of five African Americans who served in the North Carolina Senate during the 1866-1867 session. He was also a delegate to North Carolina's 1875 Constitutional Convention.[2] He represented Edgecombe County.
He served in the state senate with fellow African American state senatore George Mebane, William H. Moore, Hanson T. Hughes, and John R. Byrant.[3]
He lived in Freedom Hill.[2]
